Academic integrity and honesty are necessary preconditions to the academic freedom fundamental to any university.

“Ethical conduct is the obligation of every member of the university community and breaches of academic integrity constitute serious offenses. The principles of academic integrity entail simple standards of honesty and truth. Each member of the university has a responsibility to uphold the standards of the community and to take action when others violate them” (Catalogue of the Graduate School - New Brunswick).

Students are expected to adhere to the highest personal ethical and moral standards, and specifically to conduct themselves according to the Ethical Principles of the American Psychological Association (APA) in all aspects of their professional behavior. Violations of the Ethical Principles of APA may be grounds for dismissal from the program.
